Letters to the editor: Stop killing innocent babies

Our modern world defines God as a “religious complex” and laugh at the Ten Commandments as old fashioned, and now our blood drenched schools proclaim the bitter world and we no longer laugh.
There is but one way out and it existed before it was engraved upon tablets of stone. The Ten Commandments are not rules to obey as a personal favor to God. They are the fundamental principles without which mankind cannot live.
Recently 400,000 people gathered in Washington, D.C. to protest the terrible killing of our born and unborn babies. I have heard 50 million babies’ lives have ended in the 40 years since the U.S. Supreme Court gave their consent to kill — abort our born and unborn babies.
Our politicians have taken God and His precious Word the Holy Bible from our schools and now we look for politicians to prevent killing of innocent children in our schools.
I believe God may take His hand of protection from America. You may not want to hear this truth, but get on your knees, beg God’s forgiveness, change your evil ways and obey His Commandments and our nation will be saved.

Richard Borys,
Tiskilwa

And if abortion is made to be illegal, what would you propose the punishment should be for the breaking of that law?
Who should be punished? The person who preforms the abortion? The person who asks for the abortion, that may be a boy friend, husband, one night stand, father, or perhaps a scared young girl who was forced into a situation she did not want?
I have no answer, all I know is that I am in my late seventies and the only thing that has changed is in the last thirty years is the law.
Was it right, not sure.
Will changing it back with out punishments, severe punishments, reduce the number of abortions? Perhaps, but not by much, but the number of deaths will surly increase.
Work as hard at passing the Violence against women act, work as hard at placing equal blame and responsibility for the raising of that child, work as hard at those things and not just saying it is wrong and then feeling good about yourself and saying I did my part and God will love me because I never practiced birth control or thought about abortion and I go to church on Sundays and give fifty cents a week.
The only thing u said that is right is that killing is wrong. The difference is that I say all killing and u say white, American babies and how to accomplish that.

Dear K, yes I DO believe that. There are many ways to "kill."
I AM expanding the concept of "death" to include mental and emotional causes, which are rising in numbers.
22 veterans commit suicide per day, and children too.
Thousands of families all over the world are dying from war, hunger and poverty.
Early and painful death is experienced from the chemicals in our food and the environment, as studies are indicating.
This is the consciousness of "killing" to me, directly or indirectly.
Open your mind and your heart to include other ways of thinking, as the Christ suggested. He cared for all.
Thank you for your attention to my writing, and your care for the unborn.

MW,
I do believe in the virgin birth.

Mr. Borys did not blame only the woman, nor do I, nor does any pro-lifer worth their salt. If anything, men are often more culpable as is the abortionist.

If changing the law wont stop rape, abuse, or abortion then why do we have laws against rape and abuse but legally allow the murder of the unborn? If you believe killing babies is wrong a good place to start is to make it illegal to kill them.

I believe this sir. Babies should never be killed.
Never, no mater their race, color, nationality or what name they use for God.
I believe that there was only one women who gave birth to a child without the help of a man. Do you?
I therefore find it reasonable to assume that one cannot fully blame just a women for the abortion of a child.
Yes, I believe that anyone who speaks out against the law is ignoring the fact that overturning that law will not stop rape, abuse and, in fact abortion.
I just find it wrong to blame one gender for an act that takes two persons.
I also believe it is wrong to say that killing a fetus is wrong but the killing of a day old to a sixteen year old is fine. So what one might believe is a moving target is fine. Does that about sum it up with you?
It does not matter to me it that abortion is done by a doctor, or you call it a miscarriage caused by a beating, an exploding bomb, a gun shot or sexual abuse. They are all wrong.

MW, Whenever someone speaks out about a moral/ethical issue you wonder if they are spouse abusing rapists who contracepts and hates people of color. It's getting old. Not everyone is the hypocrit you think they are.
