CASEY (AP) — The relationship of Mandy Fuller and Zach Hosselton came full circle Nov. 12  when they were married at the World’s Largest Wind Chime.
The first date for the couple was a year ago at the wind chime in Casey, so both Fuller and Hosselton said it was only fitting to get married at the very same spot they first fell in love.
“Everything is unique about our relationship,” Hosselton said. “No one has gotten married here and we wanted our wedding to be memorable.”
Fuller, 30, and Hosselton, 37, met through a mutual friend, Emily Harris, and had their first date three days later.
Harris said she set the pair up because she thought they would be a great match.
“They have both been through some rough stuff on their own and they just seemed like a perfect match,” Harris said. “Seeing what both of them went through they needed someone to love and to be loved.”
Hosselton said he wanted their first date to be at the 55-foot-tall wind chime because he wanted to impress Fuller, which worked because the couple had an instant connection.
“The first time we locked eyes I knew she was going to be my wife,” Hosselton said. “We were instantly comfortable with each other. I just had a good feeling about her and everything just fell into place.”
This is the second marriage for the duo, who both have a total of six kids.
“We are like the Brady Bunch,” Fuller said with a smile. “Zach took great interest in my children. He is a great father figure.”
After a year of dating the pair were engaged in May at the house they share in Casey. Hosselton said their relationship was fast-paced, but he said he wouldn’t have had it any other way.
“There was never anything in our relationship that ever gave us doubts — we never had to think twice,” Hosselton said.
On Nov. 12, the duo made it official by enduring the 20 degree temperature and light dusting of snow on their wedding day for the special date and time of 9:10 a.m. on 11-12-13.
“We knew we were going to get married even if it rains or snows,” Hosselton said. “The date and time of our wedding is a way to make it even more unique and special to look back on. We don’t like to be normal.”
The bride wore a white halter dress and tried to stay warm with a black jacket and gloves. The groom donned a black suit and a purple shirt.
“I was hoping for nice weather,” Fuller said with a laugh about her wedding dress choice.
The couple were married among 30 family and close friends who were kept warm with a large heater under the gazebo of the World’s Largest Wind Chime, next door to the Whitling Whimsy cafe.
“I never imagined a year from now that I would be married here,” Hosselton said. “It’s cool to look back on the past year.”
After the wedding Fuller said she felt happy to finally be married to her love.
“I feel complete,” Fuller said. “It feels good to be married.
Both Hosselton and Fuller said they are excited to start a new chapter in their lives.
“We are just living and loving life,” Hosselton said.
The next adventure for the duo is their five day honeymoon, which they are spending in St. Louis.
“Don’t give up on true love because it’s there,” Hosselton said. “It shows up at an unexpected time and place.”
