Letters to the editor: The phony war on women

Have you heard about a war on women? A politician or activist will throw a sales pitch that conservative minded people are trying to “ force women back into the dark ages.”  This is a dishonest scare tactic because the services these activists support actually hurt women.
These activists don’t admit that “the pill” is declared a Class 1 carcinogen and has been found to cause cancer in lab animals and humans.  “Problems related to the use of Yasmin and Yaz from Bayer Pharmaceuticals have led to 12,000 lawsuits and have been linked to blood clots, bladder disease, stroke, heart attack and death.” Some proponents will tell you the pill helps against some cancers, but they won’t tell you it is known to cause breast, cervical and liver cancer. Why don’t you hear about these problems, the answer lies in money. “In 2008 Yasmin brought in 616 million dollars. The Ortho patch is not any better with over 400 lawsuits related to severe side effects including heart attack, stroke and blood clots.”
Abortion is even more damaging physically and emotionally to women.  A 25 year study done in Denmark correlated maternal death with abortion.  “Women who had one abortion had a maternal death rate 45 percent higher than those with no abortions.  Women who had two abortions were 114 percent more likely to die during this same period and three or more increased it to 192 percent.”  You won’t find that on the Pro-Choice websites!
In addition women are not told that 10 percent of women suffer immediate complications after abortion including: infection, excessive bleeding, embolism, ripping of the uterus, hemorrhaging, cervical damage and endotoxic shock. “ British Journal of Psychiatry (BJP) research shows that women who have abortions are twice as likely to suffer mental health issues and three times more likely to suffer specifically from depression” than women with no abortion history.  Safe and legal indeed!
”66 studies have been conducted on the correlation of breast cancer and abortion and 53 show that having an induced abortion increases a woman’s risk of breast cancer.”  You will never find these facts on an abortion providers website or in the rhetoric of the pro-choice crowd, they make there sales pitch based on fear and obscuring the truth.  It is ironic that those who are claiming to be champions for women’s rights are the same people responsible for covering up these facts.  Women deserve much better.

Seems like the war on women (and men too, I would suspect) in La Salle County is on full view in the video broadcast nationally on the news this week. See the strip-search DWI story...

Anyone who is against abortion, and not against war, state executions, hit lists, and polluted food and water, is illogical in thinking and inconsistent in morality.

Who decides when a body is en-souled? Do we have that right to judge and really know?

To choose one focus such as this, does not see the bigger picture.

It is OK, we love you anyway.

The freedom to express one's opinion in a letter to the editor is valued. Retribution is perhaps not ours.

How can the editor allow a letter so full of lies, half truths and pure Misstatements and then repeatedly refuse any reasonable response.
Is that not a violation of the first amendment?

There is a danger in anyone exercising that kind of power.

You have no concrete evidence that any of the things you cite are indeed factual.

Many people who have never been pregnant , never had an abortion, miscarried. or, in fact are not of the female gender suffer from many, not all , but many of the maladies you site here.
Breast cancer is quite common in males and yet, I cannot think of a single male abortion, can you?
No sir, I feel you owe an apology to all women.
As for birth control, I would like to see a showing of all women under the age of 90 who have "NOT" used some form of birth control. From the pill to abstinence

What a woman wants to do to her body is her choice, not anyone else's. People should mind their own business.

Every drug comes with a warning. All possible side effects are listed.
Every doctor I have visited, or any member of my fam. who has gone to a doctor and a med. has been suggested has been informed
of the risks in taking those drugs and have been given a choice as to whether or not they want to take them. The informed diss. is theirs to make.
Now some time, somewhere You and those like you , have decided that women , by their very nature do not have the ability or are intelligent enough to make those choices and need someone, YOU and those like You to make them for them.
That my friend, even though we are not nor ever will be friends, is indeed a war on women.
My mom was a single mom and did a heck of a job in raising two children, my dad died when I was but a cub, She was smart, worked hard and did with out to give use the things we needed, gave us a few things we wanted also.
How dare you suggest there is no war on women
I DO NOT BELIEVE IN ABORTION I don't. What I believe is that that is a choice between a women a doctor and God and I believe that most of the problems a women faces are caused by the guilt you place on them.
