Letters to the Editor: Mr. L-P contestant tossed without recognition, without good reason

I am writing this letter to the guests who attended the La Salle-Peru Township High School “Mr. LP.” I would like you to know what happened to my son, Zack Cinotto.
Obviously there was no paper cut on Zack that caused him to not be able to finish out the show after the talent competition. For weeks Zack practiced with friends and his teacher, he drove around every night and by himself collected $1,200 to donate to the school for three great causes. He also had an adorable escort excited to be on stage that was let down all because of one man, and one man only deciding to kick Zack out of the show. Robert Clydesdale made his own choice to eliminate Zack. At the end of my son’s skit he wore a Speedo. After leaving the stage he was asked to leave. Who is this Mr. Clydesdale? Who is he to make that call when in the past years the same thing has been worn in shows? Why is it OK other years and not for Zack Cinotto? Who is this man to make that call when that same Speedo was worn everyday in PE swim and it was OK. Was it ever mentioned by a teacher that the suit was inappropriate? Take a look in the past yearbooks. I believe you will find a contestant in a Speedo. It is funny that scanning the crowd numerous faculty of L-P were having a good time watching Zack and laughing at his performance. There is even a picture I have of the judges laughing. It was OK for them but not Mr. Clydesdale?
As far as Zack’s dance moves go there was absolutely no difference between his moves and his competition except the other contestant wore very tight cut off jean shorts and Zack wore a swimsuit. So why exactly was he kicked out? What did he do that hasn’t been done in the past? Nothing.
Zack is a great student, athlete, and friend to everyone. This was supposed to be all in good fun. So to all of the crowd of fans at L-P on Saturday there to support my son and all of the wonderful people who donated to help him raise the $1,200 (which was triple the amount that any other contestant raised) we thank you. He will donate all of his money even though Mr. Clydesdale would not acknowledge to the crowd that he even collected one cent. It will all be divided and given out personally by him because he truly cares about the causes and not just the title of “Mr. LP.”
