Friends of the Hennepin Canal host hike at Tiskilwa
TISKILWA — The Friends of the Hennepin Canal invite the public to join them on their monthly Hike the Canal outing. Sunday’s hike will be from Lock 6 to Bridge 6 (Lock 11). The group will meet at Lock 11, just north of Tiskilwa at 1:30 p.m., and be shuttled to Lock 6 to begin our hike.

Better Fishing Association to discuss Kid's Fishing Expo
Better Fishing Association of Northern Illinois will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the VFW Post 4668 hall, 24th and Donohue streets in La Salle. On the agenda will be the final planning for the 18th annual Kid’s Fishing Expo. The free educational event is on May 21 at Baker Lake.  BFA board members will meet at 6 p.m. prior to the regular meeting.
