Better Fishing Association to discuss Kid's Fishing Expo
Better Fishing Association of Northern Illinois will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the VFW Post 4668 hall, 24th and Donohue streets in La Salle. On the agenda will be the final planning for the 18th annual Kid’s Fishing Expo. The free educational event is on May 21 at Baker Lake.  BFA board members will meet at 6 p.m. prior to the regular meeting.

Power shut off, and state closes two state parks
SPRINGFIELD, IL - The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced today that Ramsey Lake State Recreation Area near Ramsey and Horseshoe Lake State Park near Granite City will be closed indefinitely. Ramsey Lake is being closed due to termination of electrical service. Horseshoe Lake will close April 25 due to termination of trash and electrical service. There is no estimate of when either site might reopen.
