Volunteers needed to plant trees for Gifford

GIFFORD, Ill. (AP) — Tornado-damaged Gifford is receiving 235 new trees.
The News-Gazette reports that about 150 volunteers are needed to help plant 235 trees on April 5. The project is called “Let’s Get Growing Again.”
It’s sponsored by the Champaign County Farm Bureau, Champaign Rotary Club and Ludwig Brothers Landscaping of Champaign.
Volunteers will plant more than $30,000 worth of trees, including red oaks, swamp white oaks, sugar maples and red maples.
