Marcia J. Clausen, 59 of Germantown Hills died at 7:47 a.m. July 18, 2014, in Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria.

She attended Harvest Bible Chapel in East Peoria, where there will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday. Pastors Tim Harkness and Kent Smith will officiate.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday in the church. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements.

She was born on the Fourth of July in 1955 in La Salle to Vincent and Ann (Conners) Gerace.

Marcia graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then worked 21 years as a medical technologist at Methodist Hospital before staying home to raise her two children.

Marcia is survived by her mother, Ann of La Salle; her husband, Robert Clausen of Germantown Hills; her son, Matthew Clausen of Lexington, Va.; one daughter, Margo Clausen of Germantown Hills; and one brother, Paul Gerace of Mendota.
Her father preceded her in death.

Memorials may be directed to Virginia Military Institute Foundation to be used for missionary outreach by post chaplains.
