Olga “Ollie” Kitts

Olga “Ollie” Kitts, 85, of Lacon died at 10:30 p.m. July 18, 2014 in St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Lacon.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Bible Church. Pastor Joe Bella will officiate.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon.
Mrs. Kitts was born Feb. 26, 1929, to Frank and Josephine (Zupan) Uranich in Oglesby. She married Dale Kitts on Aug. 24, 1957 in Peru. He died Oct. 23, 2004.
Ollie was like a good will ambassador for Marshall County, knowing no strangers. You never left Ollie’s house hungry. She was most comfortable in the kitchen surrounded by her children and grandchildren. One of her most cherished moments was making an instructional video with her family on how to make the Slovenian pastry potica so future generations could carry on the tradition. Heaven just gained a helper to snap beans and can tomato juice. A farmer’s wife’s work is never finished.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Lacon.
Ollie is survived by her children, Christine (Bruce) Ulmer of Stanley, N.Y., David (Jill) Kitts of Lacon, Lynnette (Doug) Nevitt of Lacon and Lori (Dave) Schaidle of Goodfield; her grandchildren, Terra Nevitt, Abbey (Nicholas) Dudley, Kyle Duryea, Jenna and Jason Kitts and Matt and Josh Schaidle; her brother, Frank (Nancy) Uranich of Peru; her sister, Josephine (Ed) Pastor of Rockford; and her best friend for 82 years, Henrietta Wallock.
Ollie also was preceded by her sister, Frances Kasperski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvary Bible Church, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, or Vitas Hospice.
Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorial
