Margaret 'Peggy' Smith-Syverson
Margaret “Peggy” Una Smith-Syverson, 88, of Oswego, former resident of the La Salle-Peru area, Aurora, Plano, Texas, and Crossville, Tenn., died peacefully July 10, 2014, in Autumn Leaves of Oswego.
A prayer service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fox Knoll Chapel, Aurora. Cremation took place at American Crematory, Oswego. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Ridgeview Memorial Park, McKinney, Texas.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Oswego.
She was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of William Thomas and Annie nee Byrne Paulley.
Margaret had great interest in playing bridge, photography and travel.
Survivors are her four children, Kathleen nee Smith Snow, Michael (Karen) Smith, William Smith, Sue nee Syverson Withrow; six grandchildren, Kevin Snow, Jason (Dawn) Snow, Eric Smith, Kelly Smith, Kenneth (Angie) Withrow and Andrew (Ashley) Withrow; eight great-grandchildren, Eric Smith Jr, Julia Smith, Taylor Santelli, Tyler Snow, Jeremy Snow, Tristin Withrow, Grayson Withrow and Gabrielle Withrow; two sisters-in-law, Mary Rita Mason and Natalie Paulley; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Smith; her second husband, Burton Syverson; and two brothers, William and James Paulley.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
