Ruth V. Edlefson, 89, of Princeton passed away July 5, 2014, in Greenfield, Princeton.
Funeral service for will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Lutheran Church, Princeton. Pastor Norman Femrite will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
The family will receive friends 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in First Lutheran Church. Norberg Memorial Home assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born March 12, 1925, in Princeton to Arthur and Esther (Johnson) Norene. She married Robert Willard Edlefson on Jan. 20, 1946, in First Lutheran Church, Princeton. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1942. She was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker.
Ruth was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. It was there that she spent a great deal of her time making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She loved fishing and traveling with Robert after retiring from the farm life. Ruth took writing classes at the Senior Center where she became quite the prolific poem and story writer.
Ruth is survived by one son, Dale (Lynn) Edlefson of Middeton Wis.; three daughters, Carla (Robert Barrow) Edlefson of Columbus, Ohio, Connie (Richard) Frankenfeld of Springfield and Diane (Brian) Conaway of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Walton of Delphi, Ind., and Annette (Leo) Peterson of Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 13, 2001; one daughter Michelle K Edlefson in 1956; and two sisters, Marian Sneed and Fern Wingo.
