Casimir 'Sam' Samolinski
Casimir S. “Sam” Samolinski, 96, of La Salle passed away at 8:32 a.m. June 18, 2014, in Heritage Manor of La Salle.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle. The Rev. Paul Carlson will officiate. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church. Burgess Funeral Home, La Salle, is handling the arrangements.
He was born March 4, 1918, in La Salle to John and Anna (Nienalski) Samolinski. He married Mary Pakula on Sept. 28, 1940, in St. Hyacinth Church.
For more than 15 years he was a mechanic for the State of Illinois. He co-owned and operated Sam & Larry’s Service Station for five years.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and St. Stephen’s Society of St. Hyacinth’s.
Survivors are a daughter, Barbara (Richard) Burkhart of La Salle; a son, Richard of Florida; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of La Salle and Larry Samlin of Spring Valley; and one sister, Jenny Piotrowski of Peru.
He is preceded in death by his wife in 2013; and six brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wasilewski, Brian, Kenneth, Kody Ksiazkiewicz, Paul, Jacob Argubright and Joseph Savitch.
