Mae L. Ellis, 90, of La Salle passed away May 26, 2014, in Heritage Health in La Salle.
As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded. Private family burial of ashes will be at Granville Cemetery. Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville is assisting the family.
She was born June 1, 1923, in Perham, Minn., to Reuben and Ann (Roman) Franklin. She married George Ellis on Aug. 23, 1941, in Minnesota.
Mrs. Ellis worked at Westclox in Peru and Del Monte in Mendota. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Granville. She enjoyed painting and crocheting.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her children, Rolley (Karen) Ellis of Arkansas, Rusty (Ann) Ellis of Spring Valley, Raymond (Anita) Ellis of Cherry, Rodney (Diane) Ellis of Spring Valley, Randy (Debi) Ellis of Arkansas, Karen Mosley of Utica, Kathy Ellis of Spring Valley, Joyce (Randy) Winch of Springfield and Vicki Ellis of La Salle; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Boedigheimer of Mark; and one daughter-in-law, Annie Ellis of Spring Valley.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richey Ellis; and one brother, Merl Franklin.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Helmer-Shields Funeral Home.
