Heather was born Oct. 23, 1986, in Spring Valley to Bill and Pat (Tonarelli) Bowers. She was a graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School in 2005 and Illinois State University in 2009. She received degrees in communication and journalism.
On April 27, 2014, a truly beautiful person inside and out passed on in her sleep to her next journey to see our God. We are all heartbroken because we will miss everything about her…but we believe this gift of a beautiful woman has touched all who knew her in so many ways. She was an independent person in every way and saw goodness in everyone and made everyone better who knew her. Our Lord took our angel to leave us for reasons unknown but her life was as a saint who taught us love, kindness and honesty in her short life of 27 years. We were blessed more than anyone we know to have had her as ours.
Heather is survived by her parents, Bill and Pat Bowers of La Salle; one brother, Kevin Bowers of Seattle, Wash.; maternal grandmother, Connie Tonarelli of La Salle; two aunts, Mary Ann (Arthur) Windy of La Salle and Kathy (Michael) LaCamera of Springfield; one uncle, David Tonarelli of Clinton, Iowa; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Tonarelli; her paternal grandparents, Edward and Alice Bowers; and one uncle, Kenneth Bowers.
In lieu of flowers, Heather’s family is establishing a fund in her name.
