Carol A. Nurnberg, 63, of Mendota died April 25, 2014, in her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. William Clark officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. She was born May 9, 1950, in Amboy to Earl and Margaret (Koehler) Payne. She married Jim Nurnberg on June 26, 1971, in Amboy. She was a graduate of Amboy High School. She was employed by Mendota Community Hospital for 23 years as a certified nurse’s aide. She enjoyed craft shows and casinos. Her family was the most important part of her life. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Jennifer (Pete) Haun of Mendota; one son, Robert Nurnberg of Mendota; and two grandchildren, Blake Thompson and Jocee Haun. She was preceded in death by one son, Joe; her parents; one brother, Robert Payne; and three sisters, Mary Gascoigne, Marge Stevens, and Susan Ketchum. Memorials may be directed to a memorial to be established by the family.
