Leona Fenoglio

Leona I. Fenoglio, 100, who was born in Spring Valley and resided in Joliet, died March 27, 2014, in Brighton Garden, Wheaton.

A funeral Mass will be at noon Friday in Parish of The Nativity of Our Lord (Mautino Drive location). The Rev. Robert Spilman will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services Friday in the church. Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is providing the arrangements.

Leona was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Spring Valley to Peter Troy and Nata Chiaventone. She was raised by John and Mary Troy of Gary, Ind. She married Andrew Fenoglio.

Leona was a teacher in the Joliet area for 20 years. She was a member of St. Raymond Cathedral in Joliet.

Survivors include her two sons, Richard (Martha) Fenoglio of Westchester, Pa. and David (Jill) Fenoglio of Wheaton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, John Troy of Spring Valley; and one sister, Alice Daniel of Merrillville, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 9, 1986; and one granddaughter.
