Robert Lee “Butch” Smith Sr., 76, of Henry, died at 7:32 a.m. March 21, 2014, in Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital, Peoria.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Calvert and Johnson Memorial Home Downtown Chapel, Henry. The Rev. Lindsay Churchman will officiate. Private family burial will follow at Henry Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by Henry American Legion Post.
Visitat-ion will be 3-6 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Smith was born March 5, 1938, in Henry to Leo and Gladys (Hauger) Smith.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving 1958-1962.
Butch worked for Read Brothers, for a few years before going to Peoria Tractor & Equipment Co., which later became Capitol Machinery. He then retired in 2001 from Altorfer. He briefly ran a
business, Smith’s Appliance Service.
He was a member of the Peoria R.C. Modelers. 
Surviving are his daughter, Jeanie (Brad) Lutz of Tonica; one son, Rob (Jeri) Smith of Braidwood; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents and two wives, Margaret and Martha.
Memorials may be directed to the donors’ choice.
