Anna Mae (Salz) Flecker
Anna Mae (Salz) Flecker, 88, of Lostant passed away Dec. 14, 2013, in Heritage Healthcare Center, Peru.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lostant. The Rev. Luke Poczworowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Lostant.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant, with recitation of the rosary at 3:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednes-day in the church.
She was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Lostant to William and Mary (Puetz) Salz. She married Herman J. Flecker on Jan. 30, 1945, in Taunton, Mass.
Mrs. Flecker was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. Together, with her husband, they owned and operated Herman’s Market in Lostant.
Survivors include four children, Robert (Patty) Flecker of Petaluma, Calif., Gary (Nina) Flecker of Rock Island, Ed (Ernie) Flecker of Bettendorf, Iowa and Patricia Flecker of Oglesby; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Betty) Salz of Streator; two sisters, Marie Miller of Streator and Agnes Judd of Lostant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on Aug. 17, 1979; four brothers, Arnold, Albert, William and Florbert Salz; and four sisters, Alma Roth, Edna Wolf, Minnie Obermiller and Alberta O’Grady.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Flecker, Erica Arias, Austin Flecker, Michelle Wolf and Nicki Kroncke.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date or to the donor’s choice.
