Ernest "Bob" Plott Sr.

Ernest “Bob” Plott Sr., 86, of Sping Valley died at 3:45 p.m. Nov. 20, 2013, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Pastor Willie Hunter, his stepson-in-law, will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Plott was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Mazon to Dennis and Lena (Sease) Plott. He married Norene Mallaney on July 22, 1950, and she died Oct. 16, 1990. He then married Lorna Lyman.
He was a teamster truck driver, working the last 17 years before retiring for Consolidated Freight out of Local 722. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 722.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Army, February 1946 to September 1947. He loved fishing and his three cats.
Survivors include his wife, Lorna of Spring Valley; one son, Ernest (Cathy) Plott Jr. of Union, Ky.; one daughter, Cathy (Jim) Sayer of Naperville; two grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Don Plott of Mazon; and one sister, Faye Gilmour of Gilman; four stepsons, Ron (Shelly) Ranfield of Bennett, Iowa, Gary (Lynn) Ranfield of Kalamazoo, Mich., Kelly (Phyllis) Ranfield of Whitewater, Kan., and Dan (Kathy) Ranfield Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.: and one stepdaughter, Katherine (Willie) Hunter of Smithville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steven in infancy; and one brother, Ivan Plott.
