Robert M. "Peanuts" Siekierka Sr.

Robert M. “Peanuts” Siekierka Sr., 85, of Spring Valley Nursing Home, formerly of Peru, died at 9:28 p.m. Nov. 22, 2013, in the nursing home.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Ptak Funeral Home, Peru. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial visitation will be from noon until the time of services Tuesday in Ptak Funeral Home.
Robert was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Peru to Joseph and Mable (Meyer) Siekierka. He married Lois Derix on Oct. 27, 1951, in La Salle.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a machinist at Sundstrand until his retirement. He was a member of St Joseph Church, Peru.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane (Roy) Viano of Indiana and Debbie (Glen) Wiese of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sons, Bob Siekierka Jr. of Ladd, Rick (Nancy) Siekierka of La Salle, Brian (Amy) Siekierka of La Salle and Terry (Patti) Siekierka of La Salle; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Rimmele of La Salle, Lucille Pittman of La Salle, Shirley Groleau of Phoenix and Dolores (Joe) Waskiewicz of Peru; and one brother, Richard (Sharon) Siekierka in the state of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2011, one brother and one sister.
