Catherine Herrick

Catherine Herrick, 76, of Oglesby died at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 17, 2013, in OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. The Rev. Gary Blake will officiate. Burial will be at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, La Salle.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby, is in charge of arrangements.
Catherine was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Oglesby to Frank and Marie (Gergovich) West. She married Donald Herrick July 16, 1955, in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. He died Nov. 12, 2013.
She worked at Westclox and was later a shift leader at Hardee’s and Burger King. She was a member of Holy Family Church and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors are one son, Daniel (Sarah King) of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Sandra Flaherty of Oglesby and Lee Ann (Ronald) Rydosz of Bartlett; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Rudy (Jeanette) West of Mandeville, La. and Nick West of El Paso, Ill., two sisters, Marge Cielaszyk of Oglesby and Rosemary (Larry) Lueressen of La Salle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Family Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
