James Lynch Jr., 88, of La Salle passed away Nov. 14, 2013, in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, La Salle. The Rev. Alton Lewis, pastor of First Congregational Church in La Salle, will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group. 
Visitat-ion will be 10-11 a.m. Wednes-day in the funeral home.
Mr. Lynch was born May 11, 1925, in Spring Valley to James and Rose (Soeder) Lynch.
Mr. Lynch attended La Salle-Peru Township High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. 
He received the Occupation Medal Japan, the Silver Star Medal and the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He worked most of his working career at National Sheet and Metal in Peru and Oglesby.  He enjoyed all outdoor activities and life in general.
Survivors include one brother, Bill Lynch of Whispering Pines, N.C.; one sister, Lois Humpage of La Salle; his loving companion, Penny Fandre of La Salle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Lynch; and one sister, Ann Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
