Mary P. Padawan, 91, a resident of Liberty Village of Princeton, formerly of Oglesby, died at 5:55 p.m. Nov. 14, 2013, in the nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby, with an 11:30 a.m. Mass in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. The Rev. Gary Blake will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, La Salle.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday in the funeral chapel.
Mary was born April 7, 1922, in Jonesville to Joseph and Agnes (Creiger) Welch. She married Corino “Bud” Padawan on May 13, 1944, in Sacred Heart Church, Oglesby.
She worked at Westclox and Woolworth’s. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Marine Corps Auxiliary and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Newman and Sue (Robert) Zielinski, both of Oglesby; four grandchildren, Carrie (Gregg) Lee, Melissa (Mike) Silfies, Cori Zielinski and Bobbi (William) Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Carissa (Robbie) Danaher, Angela Silfies, Cassidy Lee, Matthew Silfies, Lauren Silfies, Izaya Martin and Josephina Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 30, 2009; three brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Carissa Danaher, Cori Zielinski, Bobbi Martin, Cassiday Lee, Matthew Silfies, Lauren Silfies and Robbie Danaher.
