Graviela 'Grace' Wentz
Graviela “Grace” Wentz, 69, of 209 Division St., Mendota died Nov. 6, 2013, in Foster G. McGaw Hospital, Cook County.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Fredi Gomez-Torres officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday in Schwarz Funeral Home, Mendota.
She was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Plainview, Texas to Angel José and Guadalupe (Canales) Morales. She married Terry Wentz on July 28, 1986, in Ottawa.
She attended Illinois Valley Community College, receiving her associate’s degree in 1998. She worked for Motor Wheel as a machine operator for 23 years before retiring in 1996. She was a member of Holy Cross Church.
She is survived by her husband, Terry of Mendota; one son, David (Kelly) Gomez of Bristol, Wis.; three daughters, Rosie Rodriguez of Rockford, Stella Hammitt of Bristol, Wis., and Grace Thompson of Mendota; two stepdaughters, Shelley Wentz of Belize City, Belize and Kelly (Marty) Lundgren of Wheaton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joel (Maria) Morales of Sinton, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Pepe and Adam Morales; and three sisters, Rachel Vincent, Elva Morales and Maria Quintero.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Zack Atwell, Justin Hunter, Taylor Thompson, Derrick Gomez, David Gomez Jr., Aidan Gomez, Michael Rodriguez and Brandon Schimelpfeing.
