Dean Janko, 81, of La Salle passed away Oct. 14, 2013, in Heritage Health, Peru.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle, with the Rev. Paul Carlson, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, La Salle with full military rites conducted by La Salle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, with recital of the rosary at 3:45 p.m.
Mr. Janko was born Dec. 8, 1931, in La Salle to Antone and Alga (Certalic) Janko. He married Arlene Aimone on Feb. 1, 1959, in Holy Family Church, Oglesby.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle.
Survivors include his sons, Mike Janko of Princeton and Timothy Janko of Roseville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Timothy Janko Jr., Andrea (Bambino) Janko, Isabel Janko and Zachary Janko; and three great grandchildren, Cole, Ashley and Lacey Janko.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 18, 2010; and two brothers, John and Albert Janko.
