Anthony “Tony” Condie, 77, former La Salle County Sheriff, passed away Sept. 26, 2013, in his home in Peru.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Valentine’s Church, Peru. The Rev. William Gardner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Valentine’s Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Peru Veterans Memorial Group.
Visitat-ion will be 4-8 p.m. Wednes-day in the funeral home with recital of the rosary at 3:45 p.m. 
Mr. Condie was born April 3, 1936, in Oglesby to Malcom and Mary (Biama) Condie. He married Rose Jaskolski on Jan. 4, 1958, in St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. 
He proudly served in the Marines. He worked at Joliet Correction Center as a guard and was a deputy for La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. Tony served as La Salle County Sheriff 1990-1998.  He was a member of St. Valentine’s Church, Illinois Police Association, Illinois Sheriff’s Association, Eagles Club and Marine Corps League.
Survivors are his son, Anthony L. (Julie) Condie of Peru; four grandchildren, Alecia Ruiz, Anthony J. Condie, Rachel McDonough and Tara Condie; two great-grandchildren, Lucas McDonough and Claire McDonough; one sister, Marge Hawley of Tonica; his longtime companion, Mary Jane Augustyniak; her two children, Sue Faber and Sandy Dziarnowski; and her four grandchildren, Allena Faber, Jacob Faber, Addison Dziarnowski and Aiden Dziarnowski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Condie on May 8, 1996; one son, Charles M. Condie on Oct. 15, 2010; and one brother, William Condie, chief of police of Morehead City, N.C.
Pallbearers will be Anthony J. Condie, Jonathan Ruiz, Michael Jaskolski, Jeff Faber, Charlie Harris, Jim “Diz” Dziarnowski, Rich Ploch and Ron Jenkins.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
