Frances Van Cleave

Frances Marie Van Cleave, 94, of DePue died at 3:40 p.m. Sept. 22, 2013, in St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in DePue First Congregational United Church of Christ. Pastor Sue Graham will officiate. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church. Barto Funeral Home, DePue, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Van Cleave was born May 21, 1919, in Henry to William and Leda (Dorff) Wendt. She married Glenn Van Cleave on June 29, 1946, in Union Congregational Church, Peoria.
She graduated from DePue High School in 1937 and had worked at DePue State Bank. Her last employment was as treasurer of DePue Schools.
She was a member of DePue First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible teacher, Ladies Guild and a chairman of the memorial committee. She was a member of DePue VFW Auxiliary and DePue Booster Club.
Survivors are three nieces, Deidre Burkart of Peru, Debra Caresio of Peru and Carol Van Cleave of Florida; one nephew, Gary Van Cleave of Peoria; and great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 19, 1997, and two brothers.
