Terry Lynn Havens, 66, of 11 Ontario St., Wenona died at 3 a.m. Sept. 4, 2013, in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Hurst Funeral Home, Wenona, with the Rev. David Baker officiating. Masonic services will be at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home. After services, a celebration of life will take place at 2 p.m. at Hartenbower Airport, Lostant, with a fly-by and services by the Wenona and Streator American legions. Lunch will follow. Terry was born June 10, 1947, in Lonoke, Ark., to Everett and Doris (Frazier) Havens. He married Mary (Smith) Havens on June 12, 1966. Terry served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam 1966-68, receiving a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He owned and operated Illinois Underground, Phoenix Paper Products, Illinois Avenue Storage and Top Hat Saloon. He was a member of Wenona Masonic Lodge, Royal Order of the Jester’s, Mohammed Shrine of Bartonville, Scottish Rite of Peoria, Milt’s Flying Group and Experimental Aircraft Association and was a licensed pilot. Survivors are one daughter, April (Jeremy) Nicolaides of Arlington, Texas; one granddaughter, Lani Cook; one grandson, Drew Cook; one brother, Dale (Kathy) Peters of Lake Wildwood, Varna; best friend, Rhonda Huser of Wenona; and companions Melissa and Kyrie Zwart, both of Wenona. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Katy Peters. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospital of Chicago or American Cancer Society.
