Gilda (Gleim) Kinzer, 85, of Waltham Township, died on the afternoon of Aug. 3, 2013, in Ottawa Pavilion.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa. Private services will follow with the Rev. Howard Smith, pastor of Waltham Presbyter-ian Church, officiating. She was born May 31, 1928, in Grand Ridge to John and Ethel (Widman) Gleim. She married Harold B. Kinzer on Feb. 21, 1953, in Grand Ridge.
Mrs. Kinzer received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Illinois, and taught home economics at Pekin High School, later at Lostant High School.
She was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church where she served as elder and treasurer for many years.
Gilda is survived by her husband, Harold B. Kinzer; two sons, John (Bonnie) Kinzer of Utica and Joe (Diane) Kinzer of Port Washington, Wis.; five grandchildren, Tim, Stacey, Claire, Colin and Jack Kinzer; and two brothers, John (Miriam) Gleim and Wayne (Caroline Lusher) Gleim, both of Grand Ridge.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Kinzer.
