James R. Kudla, 64, of 1615 Sixth St., Peru died unexpectedly July 27, 2013, at home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hurst Funeral Home, La Salle, with the Rev. Don Leonard, pastor of New Life Christian Center in Cornell, officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home.
James was born in La Salle on Jan. 9, 1949, to Martin and Virginia (Rose) Kudla.
He served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army 1968-70. James was commander of La Salle VFW. He loved fishing, playing cards with friends and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors are two brothers, John (Kathleen) Kudla of Streator and Jerry Kudla of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Joanne Stoner of Spring Valley; one stepson, Ryan (Kim) Chambers of Peru; two stepdaughters, Michelle Lucas of Peru and Randi Poole of Granville; and 10 grandchildren.
