Roland Gene Harris, 73, of Tiskilwa, passed away unexpectedly July 11, 2013, in Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Brian Hall of Presbyterian Church of Princeton officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the funeral home.

Roland was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Princeton to Wilfred and Coyla (Knapp) Harris.
He was a 1958 graduate of Princeton High School and graduated from a technical engineering school in California in electronics in 1968.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked at LTV Steel as an inspector on the galvanizing line for 35 years. He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Princeton and had served on the board of trustees for the village of Tiskilwa. He had a great love for animals.

Survivors are his mother, Coyla Harris of Princeton; his best friend and mother of his children, Linda Harris-Glynn of Princeton; his two daughters, Rhonda (David) Martin of Princeton and Denise (Patrick Schaffer) White of Neponset; six grandchildren, Amber (Josh) Wilder, Brian (Nicole) Prunty Jr., Rebecca Prunty, Elizabeth (Stephen) Michael, Tyler Harris and Brenda (Josh) Gould; five great-grandchildren, Trinity, Meiah, Natalie, Mason and Sean; one sister, Margaret (Larry) Schlesinger of Mendota; and one brother, Jerry (Linda) Harris of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred; and his daughter, Katrina Anderson.

Memorials may be directed to his family.
