William 'Bill' Simpson

William “Bill” Simpson, 70, of La Salle died June 30, 2013 in OSF Healthcare, Peoria.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. William Ultch officiating. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Mr. Simpson was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Mendota to Forrest R. and Vera (Carr) Simpson. He married Linda Crane on Dec. 30, 1962, in Troy Grove.

He graduated from Mendota High School in 1961 and was engaged in farming in Dimmick Township.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of La Salle; one son, Rick (Jeanette) Simpson of La Salle; one daughter, Paula Roberts of La Salle; three grandchildren, Lisa and Scott Smith and Tyler Roberts; and two sisters, Elsie (Russell) Fritz of Mendota and Mildren “Mick” (Carl) Reistad of Earlville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to Kidney Foundation or the donor’s choice.
