John 'Jack' O'Neill

John J. “Jack” O’Neill, 89, lately of Plainfield and formerly of New Lenox, died May 8, 2013.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hickey Memorial Chapel, New Lenox, with a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Jude Church. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Mr. O’Neill was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Chicago to Edward and Edna (Druin) O’Neill.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” O’Neill; children, Mary Margaret Dyas, Barbara (Robert) Hoyt, George (Arlene) O’Neill, John Patrick (Kathy) O’Neill, Daniel O’Neill. Donna (Rick) Coleman, Mary (Dr. John) Timmons, Michael (Lisa) O’Neill and Joseph O’Neill; 34 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; stepchildren Matt (Bonnie) Rykiel, Suzie (Richard) Thill, Martin (Carol) Rykiel and Annie (Steven) Sallay; eight stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores “Dolly,” his second wife, Fran; and a granddaughter, Michelle O’Neill.
Memorials may be directed to Legion of Christ or Joliet Area Hospice.
