Dorothy (Yendro) Dougherty, 84, of Deer Park Township died April 19, 2013, in OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Columba Church, Ottawa, with the Rev. David Kipfer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa, with the rosary recited at 4:30 p.m.
Mrs. Dougherty was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Streator to Michael and Susan (Pouk) Yendro. She married John W. “Jack” Dougherty on July 17, 1954, in St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.
She was a graduate of St. Stephen Grade School and attended Streator High School.
She worked at Owens-Illinois Glass in Streator and then for Drs. Loomis and Novak Veterinary Clinic from 1969 to 2011. She was a member of St. Columba Church. Survivors are a daughter, Deborah (Dan) Ellefson of Sun Prairie, Wis.; two sons, Jack (Tammy) Dougherty of Aurora and Shaun (Christina) Dougherty of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Brandon Ellefson and Brenna, Connor, Delaney and Shea Dougherty; one brother, Edwin Yendro of Streator; and two sisters-in-law, Diane McMahon and Patricia Dougherty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, on Nov. 9, 2000; one grandson, Dylan Ellefson; three sisters, Mary, Margaret and Anna; and one brother, Albert Yendro.
