Joyce E. Myers, 79, of Utica died at 5:46 a.m. April 16, 2013, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru, after an extended illness.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Hurst Funeral Home, La Salle, with the Rev. Antonio Dittmer, pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes, officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of services Friday in the funeral home. She was born Jan. 16, 1934, to Howard and Helen (Shore) Russell. She married Edward Myers on April 24, 1954.
Mrs. Myers worked for a short time at Westclox before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed her family.
Survivors are two sons, Dan (Deborah) Myers of Utica and Jim (Mary) Myers of La Salle; two grandsons, Luke (Suzanne) Myers of North Carolina and David (Danielle) Myers of Ottawa; one sister, Gladys Flori and one brother, Wayne Russell, both of Texas; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 1, 2000; one sister and two brothers.
