Roberta Pinter

Roberta Elizabeth (Krueger) Pinter, 84, of Princeton was surrounded by family in her daughter’s home when she was called home to her Lord on March 29, 2013.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Lutheran ‘Church on the Hill,’ U.S. 6 between Princeton and Hollowayville, with interment at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday in Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, and an hour before services on Saturday in the church.

Roberta was born Feb. 19, 1929, to William C. and Lydia (Goering) Krueger of DePue. Roberta married Wilbur J. Pinter on Jan. 2, 1949, at St. John’s Lutheran ‘Church on the Hill’ where she had been baptized and confirmed. They farmed in the Arlington area, before moving to Princeton.

She graduated from DePue High School in 1947 and had a distinguished career in government service, working at the Bureau County courthouse, first in the county clerk’s office, then in the circuit clerk’s office where she retired as deputy clerk in 1996.

Roberta was a lifelong member at ‘Church on the Hill’ where she served many roles, including Sunday school teacher, council member, ladies group officer, Jr. Lutheran’s leader and altar guild. During retirement, she kept busy with church activities, as a Gold Coat at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton; helping at The Closet, serving as an election judge, visiting family and babysitting for her grandkids. She always was ‘on the go’ but enjoyed having coffee or lunch with friends, as well. If help was needed, Roberta would volunteer.

Roberta is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Sharon) of Mundelein, Sandra (John) Wesson of Grayslake, Garry (Sarah) of Vernon Hills and Larry (Joni) of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Mueller, Jamie (Jenny) Mueller, Angelyn Pinter (Chad McCormick), Dylana (Elliott) Eisaman, Daniel, Haley, Sean, Nicole, Tyler, Scott and Erik Pinter; five great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren, five stepgreat-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur on Sept. 13, 1987; her brother, William G. Kruger; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
