Donald R. Jones, 61, of Cedar Point died at 3:02 p.m. Feb. 24, 2013, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Lighthouse Baptist Church north of Peru. Pastor Tom McMurtry will officiate. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Elwood.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church. Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born June 22, 1951, in Alderson, W.Va., to Charles and Evelyn (Boyce) Jones. He married Kimberly Vega on Oct. 21, 1995, in Lighthouse Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy as an airman apprentice during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal.

He was an ironworker and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors are his wife; his mother, Evelyn Jones of Morris; three daughters, Nicole, Elizabeth and Maria Jones, all at home; and three brothers, Keith (Sandy) Jones of Arlington, Mark (Cindy) Jones of Coal City and Ron Jones of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his family.

Memorials may be directed to the family for his children’s education.
