Joyce L. Vulcani, 69, of Hennepin passed away Feb. 17, 2013, with her loving family by her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hennepin. The Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Hennepin.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services in the church.

Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville, is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born Dec. 30, 1943, in La Salle to Frank and Ann (Kozel) Kastigar. She married Dennis Vulcani on Nov. 19, 1966, in St. Roch’s Church, La Salle.

She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree and received her master’s degree in education from Illinois State University. She also attended graduate school at University of Northern Colorado and Memphis State University.

She was a wonderful wife and mother. She retired from teaching at La Salle-Peru Township High School after 30 years. Joyce and her husband also owned and operated Rolando’s Supper Club in Hennepin for 30 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Karen (James Bohne) Vulcani of Hennepin and Julie (Joe Edwards) Vulcani of Petoskey, Mich.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patricia, and one brother, Frank.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude.

Pallbearers will be Julie Enzenberger, Terry Lane, Damian Grivetti, Bud Friel, Vince Menendez and James Bohne.
