Louise M. Riley, 85, of Geneseo passed away Feb. 6, 2013, in Ottawa Pavilion.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday in Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Geneseo, with a rosary at 2:45 p.m.

She was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Moline to Meadard and Bertha (Timmerman) Boeckaert.

She graduated from St. Mary’s School, Moline, in 1945 and St Anthony’s School of Nursing in 1947. On Aug. 18, 1951, she married Charles R. Riley in Moline, and he preceded her in death 2002. She spent many years working as a registered nurse in Good Samaritan Village as well as Hillcrest Home in Geneseo and St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Lacon.

Louise was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and Rock Island Family Campers. She enjoyed her exercise group at the community center, camping, knitting, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by five sons, Thomas Riley of Santa Fe, N.M., Joseph (Susan) Riley of East Moline, Michael Riley of Glendale, Ariz., Pete (Deb) Riley of Peoria and Robert (Jolanda) Riley of Mount Vernon; 3 daughters, Peggy (Ron) Renz of Utica, Mary B. Riley (Mike Genthner) of Ashfield, Mass., and Barbara (Robert) Budnik of Palmer, Alaska; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and her sister, Mary VanLanduyt.

Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Geneseo Food Pantry.
