Pauline Marie Macchi, 91, a resident of Spring Valley since 1978, and previously a 48-year resident of Oglesby, died at 6:40 p.m. Feb. 5, 2013, in St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. The Rev. Robert Spilman will officiate. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Friday in the funeral home. She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Gundino, Italy, to John and Margaret (Nosari) Servalli. She married Gilbert Faletti on Nov. 26, 1942, in Sacred Heart Church, Oglesby. He died April 6, 1964. She then married Albert Macchi on Oct. 27, 1967, in Holy Family Church, Oglesby. He died June 3, 2008.
She worked at Westclox in Peru, the Oglesby Bakery, Gregorich’s Grocery Store, Eicor and Woolworth’s in La Salle. She also owned and operated the Northernmist Ice Cream Parlor in Oglesby.
She was a member of Holy Family Church, Oglesby, and Daughters of Isabella of the church until she moved in 1978. She then was a member of St. Gertrude Church in Seatonville, Altar and Rosary Society and Ravioli Ladies of the church.
Survivors are two daughters, Carol (Terry) Hrovat of La Salle and Sheila (Mike) Hill of La Salle; one stepson, Alan Macchi of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Pam Macchi of California; three grandchildren, Chris, Sammantha and Jessica; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, one sister and one brother.
