Leo J. Nosalik, 84, of La Salle died at 1:47 p.m. Dec. 25, 2012, in Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Streator.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St Hyacinth Church, La Salle/ The Very Rev. Antonio Dittmer, pastor of La Salle Catholic Churches, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, La Salle.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Burgess Funeral Home, La Salle.
Mr. Nosalik was born Feb. 26, 1928, in La Salle to John and Sophie (Sala) Nosalik.
He married Joyce Moeller on Sept. 28, 1952, in Holy Family Church, Oglesby.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific in the Mariana Islands of Guam, Saipan and Tinion
He was hired by the city of La Salle in 1952 as a police officer. He was later employed by La Salle Public Elementary Schools for many of years as a custodian.
For 26 years he served the city of La Salle as an alderman in the 4th Ward.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle and was an usher for many of years.
Throughout his life he was an avid fisherman and gardener, enjoyed cooking with his smoke house and was a White Sox fan.
Suvivors include his wife; two sons, Michael (Vicki) of La Salle and Daniel (Roseanne) of La Salle; five grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer), Shaun, Kylie, Nathan and Nick Nosalik; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Branden, Baylie and Mason Nosalik; and one brother, John (Margaret) Nosalik of La Salle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward.
