Craig S. Markley, 41, of Lostant died Nov. 23, 2012, in Asta Care Center of Toluca after his long struggle with cancer.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today in Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant. Private burial will take place at a later date.

Mr. Markley was born Feb. 16, 1971, in Streator to Leslie and Claire (Gnuske) Markley. 

He graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Craig was University Center board president and served on several other college boards at the university following graduation.

Survivors are his parents, Leslie and Pamela Markley of Lostant; four sisters, Melody (Mark) Boston of Kenosha, Wis., Melissa (Gary) Topasna of Gulf Port, Miss., Monica (Rohit) Sharma of Seattle, Wash., and Danna (Jayson) Bollengier of O’Fallon; his grandmother, Norma (Robert) English of Vacaville, Calif.; three nieces; three nephews; one great niece; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents, Ellvan and Freida Markley and Carl and Lucille Gnuske.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to family for a memorial to be established a later date.
