Kent Burgwald

Kent Lee Burgwald, 65, of Ottawa died Nov. 22, 2012, in his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. George Kalb officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Mr. Burgwald was born March 16, 1947, in Ottawa to Russell and Dorothy (Bloxom) Burgwald. He married Pamela Cairns on June 28, 1969.

He worked at Union Carbide and retired from City of Ottawa Water Department. He was a retired member of Ottawa River Rescue Squad, former boat safety instructor; Starved Rock Yacht Club, Ducks Unlimited, IRBBA and the NRA.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Matthew (Jenny) Burgwald and Ryan (Brooke) Burgwald, both of Ottawa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Tyke (Lora) Burgwald and Craig (Vicky) Burgwald, both of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Helen; and his grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Pat Lewis, Paul Lewis, Scott Robertson, Bernie Sexton, Doug Billings and Joe Bohler.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed according to Kent’s wishes.
