Michael Eugene Parks, 40, of La Salle passed away Oct. 10, 2012, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Mueller and Pagani Funeral Home, La Salle. The Rev. Patrick Embl, pastor pf First Baptist Church of Graymont, will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Michael was born July 20, 1972, in Streator to Clarence E. and Sandy (Ansteth) Parks.

He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria for many years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Survivors are his parents, Clarence E. (Kathy) Parks of Streator and Sandy Welch of Pontiac; fiancée of three years, Jane Zorgdrager of La Salle; one son, Justin Parks of Streator; stepchildren, John, Megan and Alisha Zorgdrager of La Salle; six siblings, William Parks of Florida, Margaret Parks of Japan, Mary Jo Parks of Peru, Monica (Chad) Hopkins of Streator, Melissa Parks of Streator and Tommy Saltzman of Spring Valley; three uncles, Gordon (Carrie) Parks of La Salle, Don (Ellen) Parks of North Carolina and Ron (Donna) Ansteth of Triumph; three aunts, Connie Shaw of Flanagan, Diana May of Oregon and Dee Dee Randle of Ariz.; and 10 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dale and Josephine Ansteth; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Parks; one uncle, Michael Parks; and one cousin, Derek Parks.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to various organizations.
