Welcome Race fans!
After Sunday, there’s only one episode left.
It should be an exciting finale as there is no clear-cut favorite. Every team but Josh and Brent has won a leg, and even though the life partners haven’t won, they have overcome a lot and have managed to stay in the race so I wouldn’t count them out.
There’s plenty riding on the finale, at least in my life.
Justina and I each drafted teams and whoever picks the winner gets a prize (which has yet to be determined) and we each have two teams left. I have the Chippendales and Josh and Brent, while Justina has the twins and Trey and Lexi. She probably has better odds.
Nora also has bragging rights on the line (as do a blog commenter and a few who voted in the web poll after the first episode) as she picked the Chippendales to win right off the bat.
I can’t wait to see what happens and wrap up the season for everyone.
Order of Finish:
- Trey and Lexi, dating (won sixth, seventh, 10th legs)
- James and Jaymes, friends/Chippendales (won eighth leg)
- Josh and Brent, life partners
- Natalie and Nadiya, twins (won second, ninth legs), NON-ELIMINATION
Thumbs Up: To Natalie and Nadiya for their interview segments. The twinnies’ interviews are one of the most entertaining parts of this season. I particularly enjoyed their commentary on their tennis careers on Sunday. The twins said their parents hoped to make them the “Venus and Serena Williams of Sri Lanka.” However, Natalie and Nadiya weren’t having it so when their tennis instructor showed up, they jumped into the pool with their tennis clothes on and thus weren’t allowed on the clay courts.
Bonus Thumbs Up: Nora liked seeing the contestants spend the day at the beach relaxing and having fun. I have to agree. We usually don’t get to see the contestants do anything other than race so it was a nice change of pace.
Thumbs Down: Again to Natalie and Nadiya. The twins agreed before the show that Nadiya would be responsible for learning to drive stick. She took one lesson and thought it was easy so she stopped, but she apparently didn’t learn too well and it showed Sunday. The car kept lurching forward and it cost the twins lots of time. It probably didn’t help that Natalie was in the back calling her a fool and an idiot.
Best moment: There were not a lot of great moments, but who doesn’t like seeing someone overcome a challenge? Josh had an injured ankle and was struggled with the tennis challenge. It obviously wasn’t a good idea for him to do the challenge, but he persevered and finished. At the end, the 43-year-old said, “I feel like I just won the Olympics.”
Quotes of the Week: “Am I right-handed or left-handed?” Nadiya.
Question of the Week: What would you do with your share of the $1 million?
