50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Lyla) Anderson of Spring Valley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 in the Fellowship Hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru. They request gifts be omitted.
Rodney Anderson and the former Lyla Becherl were united in marriage Sept. 5, 1964, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, McHenry, N.D.
The couple are the parents of two daughters, Camille (Jeffrey) Jordan of Germantown Hills and Crystal Anderson of Normal. They also have three grandchildren.
Moving to the Illinois Valley in 1967, Mr. Anderson was employed by May’s Drug, Peru, as a pharmacist, owned and operated Dakota Drug, Spring Valley, and retired after 20 years from Green Tree Pharmacy, Minonk.
Mrs. Anderson was employed by Dakota Drug and Green Tree Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician before retirement.
They are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
