Fresh, organic, local: What's not to love about a farmers market?

You also can expect to find garments, jewelry, lotions and crafts. But some people hit the markets as a social activity. “I like the farmers market because you get to get out and talk to the people in the community,” said Laurie Raines of West Brooklyn, who’s been a regular at the Mendota Farmers Market for about nine years.
