Malden pin-up girls

Last year, the Linkers’ 1935 Case CC tractor (left) was chosen for John Harvey’s 2014 Classic Farm Tractor Calendar (appearing in June). For the second year in a row, their Russell (right) will be featured on the 2015 calendar because it is very rare, Steve Linker says. While it was built in 1919 in the state of Ohio, this particular Russell sports the company’s only original decal in the United States. Steve, who has been restoring the Russell since October, enjoys the heritage behind each tractor feature on the calendar and when looking at both of the masterpieces says, “Makes me feel pretty good. I’m hoping mom and dad are happy with them.”NewsTribune photo/Katylyn Rumbold

Steve Linker (left) along with his parents, Gerald and Joyce, debuted “The Boss” at the I&I Tractor Show near Champaign this past weekend in celebration of the calendar’s 25th anniversary. Steve said there were 25 years’ worth of antique tractors at the show saying, “I may be a bit prejudiced, but I don’t think there’s a family who can take better-looking tractors to this thing.”
