Carlos Acosta, DePue
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
Season highlights: The four-year star had a memorable senior season. Acosta led the area with 41 goals and added 10 assists for a DePue squad that went 12-4 and lost in the regional semifinal, in which Acosta scored both goals. He finished his career with 124 goals and 23 assists.

Lucas Bauer, Princeton
Year:
Senior
Position: Goalkeeper
Season highlights: After sitting behind two goalies last season, Bauer shined in his only season as a starter. The Tiger senior had an area-best 172 saves and had a 1.08 goals against average for a PHS team that went 18-4-5 and had a pair of shutouts in the postseason.

Omar Bugarin, Mendota
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
Season highlights: After not playing his first two years in high school, the striker made an impact in his second season on the team. The unanimous All-Big Northern Conference West Division pick scored a team-high 18 goals and had four assists for the regional champion Trojans.

Tristan Cunha, Ottawa
Year:
Junior
Position: Forward
Season highlights: Also the kicker on the Pirates football team, the junior forward helped  lead Ottawa this season as he scored a team-high 14 goals and also had six assists. Cunha was named to the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division all-conference team.

Jacob Estrada, Princeton
Year:
Senior
Position: Midfielder
Season highlights: The Tigers’ senior co-captain played a vital role on this year’s Princeton squad. Splitting time as a midfielder and a forward, Estrada was third on the team with 13 goals and 11 assists for a PHS squad that advanced to the sectional final.

Alex Koziel, Ottawa
Year:
Senior
Position: Midfielder
Season highlights: Koziel was a steady force in the midfield for the Pirates. This fall, the senior was third on the team with nine goals and tied for second with six assists. For his play, he received all-conference honors in the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division.

Alberto Martinez, DePue
Year: Junior
Position: Midfielder
Season highlights: Called the glue of the team by Little Giants coach Tim Stevens, Martinez had a standout season. The junior midfielder was third on the squad with eight goals and seven assists for a DePue team that won a program-high 12 games this season.

Tyler Marvin, Princeton
Year:
Senior
Position: Forward
Season highlights: After not playing soccer his junior season, Marvin had quite the reintroduction to the sport. The striker was second in the area with 31 goals and averaged 1.1 goals per game. He also added four assists for the regional-champion Tigers.

Ivan Pantoja, Mendota
Year:
Junior
Position: Defender
Season highlights: Called a lock-down defender by Mendota coach Chawn Huffaker, the junior keyed the Trojan defense. In addition to his defense, Pantoja scored one goal and assisted two others while being named to the All-Big Northern Conference West Division team.

Drew Pranka, Princeton
Year:
Junior
Position: Defender
Season highlights: The Tigers junior sweeper was the last line of defense for a Princeton squad that allowed slightly more than a goal per game. Pranka also made a team-high three non-goalie saves and assisted one goal for the Tigers, who reached a sectional final.

Isaac Reyes, DePue
Year:
Senior
Position: Defender
Season highlights: The senior sweeper played a vital part of a Little Giants defense that allowed just 15 goals in 16 games and had 10 shutouts in 16 games. Reyes also contributed on offense as he had three goals and an assist to help DePue to a school record 12 wins.

Dylan Schaefer, Princeton
Year:
Senior
Position: Defender
Season highlights: The 2013 NewsTribune Boys Soccer Player of the Year had a record-setting season. The senior was third in the area with 25 goals and led the area with 23 assists, which also set the Princeton single-season. He also set the school’s career assists mark.
