Girls basketball: Ottawa places high in two shootouts


The Ottawa girls basketball team placed second at the Morris Shootout and were co-champions at the Bradley-Bourbonnais Shootout. The Ottawa girls basketball team was the co-champions of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Shootout on June 21-22 and placed second at the Morris Shootout on June 18-19.

At Bradley-Bourbonnais, Ottawa defeated Lincoln-Way East, Coal City, Rich East, Stagg and Bradley-Bourbonnais.

In pool play at Morris, the Lady Pirates beat Moline, Coal City and Romeoville.

In bracket play, Ottawa beat Peoria Notre Dame in the first round, West Aurora in the quarterfinals and Andrew in the semifinals before losing to Hononegah in the championship.
